GTS User Manual¶
The Geospatial Tracking System (GTS) provides organizations with advanced monitoring and evaluation capabilities to deliver visibility on work performed by field staff improving efficiency and accountability of field activities.
With little to no training of field staff, the GTS enables organizations to understand where, when, by whom and for how long field activities are conducted
The GTS mobile phone application automatically records, at regular intervals (e.g., every 2 minutes), the GPS coordinates (referred to as tracks) along with a GPS timestamp and name of the person, or team, using the mobile phone application while implementing a field activity.
The GTS Dashboard will enable focal points to configure and manage their GTS instances and to geospatially visualize the actions of field teams on a map. The GTS also enables downloading tracks for further analyses.
The GTS can incorporate ODK forms to capture and geolocate contextual data, as well as ESRI shapefiles to represent aggregation base layers and targeted areas. This contextual and geospatial information can be downloaded for further analysis.
The GTS enables organizations to validate that field teams adequately performed given field activities since organizations will receive GPS positions covering whole workdays for each of their field teams, which can be used in conjunctions with paper, excel, geotagged pictures, WhatsApp messages, SMS or ODK-Collect-type reporting.
